Something very useful to you. Many of the hammocks and hanging chairs on this website come to you with a ring or loop on the ends. This means that you'll have to tie a knot with any rope you use to extend it, unless......you use a carabiner (otherwise known as a Snap Hook). Used by mountaineers this is a secure, quick release system to attach to the hammock or chair. Sold individually. Use one for chairs and two for hammocks. A nice simple alternative to the Heavy Duty Wall Plate. You only have to drill one hole. Handy if you're in a hurry to get in that hammock. Can be fixed into timber or using the supplied plastic plug, into masonry. A large carabiner is attached and it has a special nylon insert so you don't hear clank clank, clank as you swing gently on a Sunday afternoon. This fellow is easily strong enough but please do make sure the thing you're fixing it to is up for the job. Zinc coated to stop it rusting. Suitable for outdoor use. If fixing into a stud wall (partion wall) or doorframe this fixing may be a better bet than the Heavy Duty Wall Plate as you are more likely to be able to centre it on the timber.
