Anybody who has slept in a hammock knows this unavoidable fact. It’s your backside that gets the chill.
The thing is that there is no insulation in a hammock so a blanket or duvet won’t help stop numb bum, even if you sleep in a sleeping bag your body weight compresses the fibres in the bag under you and therefore you lose most of the insulation qualities of even expensive sleeping bags.
The Moonquilt is designed specifically for hammock sleeping and because you sleep in the hammock and the quilt is drawn up under you, the Moonquilt filling does not compress and works much better.
It is wide enough to allow the user to sleep diagonally in the hammock for the optimum comfort and with 2 zippers the Moonquilt can be left open, partially open or completely closed over the user depending on conditions.
Adjustable shock cords with mini carabiners allow you to adjust the level of insulation from within the hammock.
The Moonquilt can be used as a conventional sleeping bag or blanket and comes in a handy stuff sack which allows it to be packed down to a handy size weighing just 1.38kg
