“Smile” Wooden Hammock Stand
Nice lines, good quality timber and workmanship give this stand an “ahhh” factor. Made from sustainably managed slow growing Scandinavian spruce it can withstand the ravages of many an Irish summer having been dip impregnated and using all galvanised fittings.
Like all our wooden stands it is made by a laminate process (strips of timber glued and clamped together) meaning much greater strength and resistance to rot.
Although the wood has been treated is essentially bare wood which makes it particularly suitable for painting or staining.
An adjustable chain suspension system means the stand can accommodate many hammocks but please check the length of your hammock if buying for a hammock you already own if your hammock is a bit longer then consider the Big Smile.
We have these stands made specially for us by a really nice company in Poland. When specifying the design we wanted to make assembly as quick and foolproof as possible, so, for example, there are only 8 bolts and they are all the same length, any bolt will fit into any hole. The wooden pieces are symmetrical so there’s no getting the arms or braces the wrong way round. Adjusting the chains for raising or lowering the hammock is simple. Tools needed come in the box.
We did this not only because most people don’t like assembly jobs but because the easier it is the more likely you are to spend a few minutes taking the Smile apart and putting it in a shed for the winter, do this and it will last much longer. Please watch the assembly video below and you will understand.
We also keep spares in case you need new bolts or wooden pieces in years to come.
